Belage | This video is a gem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv00hGUYYbY If you know about George FLoyd, do you also know about Tony Timpa, a 32 year old white man who died after police officers kneeled on his upper back and neck for 13 minutes in 2016? It took 3 years of legal battle done by his relatives for the bodycam to be revealed to the public in July 2019. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_c-E_i8Q5G0 https://www.dalla snews.com/news/investigations/2019/07/31/you-re-gonna-kill-me-dallas-police-body-cam-footage-reveals-the-final-minutes-of-tony-timpa-s-life/ How many people here knew about Timpa? Can I see a show of hand? And how about Victoria Rose Smith? And how many people, especially those who identify as liberals or progressists are ready to take a hard cold look at the race hustling that's been happening in this country? |
shura | I do. I also know about Daniel Shaver http://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/09/us/police-shooting-video-arizona.html |
shura | Ive tried to start that convo a few times. It's a scam industry. Emphasis on *industry*. Last effort was around the time of the Philadelphia Starbucks story. No takers. I hope you have better luck. In fairness, a bit of time and effort is required to look past the official narrative, whether of the Right or Left, and not all of us have that or are willing to sacrifice it. Meanwhile, the MSM teat is warm and cozy. |

Thank you for the link. I had never heard about him before. |

todd | I don't mean to break the continuity ofvtgis thread but the back story to fluid is very strange. The cop that put his knee on fluids neck had worked with him for over 10 years a a is curity company. They weren't arranges.secondly fluids family brought in the same coroner for Floyd's autopsy who had done Epstein's autopsy...... Flyod vhad a immense dose of fentanol in his blood stream....a strange video was by a psychologist(I could be mistaken) but this man had treated the real Floyd and said the man reported killed was not the Floyd vhe knew.coupled with George Soros giving 100's of millions to BLM makes me think this whole thing was staged to fuel the class fires |

I don't believe the Floyd thing was staged. However, if there had been diligent investigation by the press into this type of police practice, they would have uncovered the death of Tony Timpa and would have given it enough media exposure that the unfortunate Floyd incident wouldn't have been framed SOLELY in terms of racism and black genocide by police in a racist supremacist system. Not saying racism doesn't exist in the society and in the police department. However, the death of Tony Timpa in the same manner which happened 4 year prior proves that framing this incident as an example of racism and white supremacy was patently false. It does highlight the issue of race hustlers who seize any and all opportunities to stir the racial pot in this country. And the newsmedia which amplifies their voices,

shura | If the race hustlers in question were legitimately trying to expunge brutality and overreach from our police forces, they would present evidence of it against citizens of every race. They would appeal to as broad an audience as possible. The evidence is there. And yet, they don't. In fact, they push back against those who do. post Patriot Act, there was some talk about militarized police, Israeli training methods, DHS grants, etc. (I recall arguing with someone here about the necessity of small NH town's new armored personnel vehicle. Hi Jwhop) Those sounding the warning signal were often dismissed as paranoid conspiracy theorists, David Koresh style right wing extremists, pro crime bleeding heart liberals, blah blah. Makes you wonder. |

I have made that argument as well to a very woke relative a couple of years ago. I said, why are you insisting on ghettorizing the issue of police brutality? (I was using the word ghetto in its organic meaning), I said as long as the country thinks it is a black people problem, it will never be fixed. You need to make white people understand that they too can be victim of police brutality and there are enough white people being killed too but this does not make the news. There was a flicker of understanding as my relative was caught speechless for a few seconds, but then the propaganda machine in her brain regained control and she dismissed it. She was too attached to the idea that the police never hurts white people. |

This is interesting, because I’ve had a couple of conversations with people who basically agree with me that police brutality/ abuse of power, cash bail, for-profit prisons, etc. are major problems that have been around for a long time and affect people of all races and cultural backgrounds... and yet had nothing but contempt for the whole BLM movement based on what they saw on the news. The most I’ve ever managed to elicit is a grudging admission that in big cities minorities probably are a lot more likely to be harassed by cops (The only time I’ve really made the effort to have that kind of conversation is when one of my kids has come home asking about some ridiculous thing they overheard on TV at a friend’s house).

Belage | Another race hustler: Black man calls 911 on himself while pretending to be someone else, so he can claim he got harassed by police because he is black. It's all over the conservative channels in Washington, but the woke channels are ignoring the incident. https://www.dailywire.com/news/report-man-calls-911-on-hims elf-says-black-teen-has-gun-then-claims-racial-profiling https://mynorthwest.com/2649368/rantz-man-calls-911-himself-goad-cops-george-floyd/ the human psyche is a strange thing. Apparently some people are addicted to martyrdom and victimization, like a form of emotional masochism. |
Belage | When the 'hood you claim to champion is not good enough to live in: Apparently, the co-founder of BLM, Patrice Cullors, who is also a self-professed marxist, has just bought a $1.4 million home in the posh, overwhelmingly WHITE neighborhood of Topanga Canyon, in the Los Angeles area. |

That was a horrible case.
